New York Style Guide had the great opportunity to attend the Cockpit USA’s showroom on June 30th where we viewed the FW15 collection.
Cockpit USA is a unique brand in itself. Since 1975, Cockpit USA has been a brand that has been created around leather, aviation, and an all American heritage. It all started in the early 70s when President and founder of Cockpit USA Jeff Clyman were taking flight in WWII aircrafts wearing his father’s Army Air Corps aviator jacket, when crowds of people came up to him and wanted to know where they could get a jacket for themselves. Today, the brand honors the garments of the times past and the heroes who have worn them, specializing in leather, outerwear, knitwear, and shirting.
The Cockpit USA showroom that was located on 15 W 39th St. made us feel as though we were transported to an aviation museum. There were items such as leather jackets, helmets, vintage t-shirts, and much more that surrounded the showroom. The Cockpit USA team made us feel welcomed into their showroom where they made sure all our questions were answered and told us more about the brand. While we looked around the Cockpit USA showroom we were offered 4th of July cupcakes and mimosas to get the 4th of July celebration going. The pieces from the collection were truly unique and were like nothing we had seen before. Our favorite piece from the collection was the vintage leather jackets. These jackets were priced anywhere from $300 to $700. A leather jacket from Cockpit USA was even seen on the trendsetter of style herself, Rhianna, and we believe that this leather jacket from Cockpit USA is a must that everyone should have.
After viewing what Cockpit USA had to offer us, we have become obsessed with their brand and will definitely be following the brand to see what more there is to come in the future. The overall true American spirit of the brand made us get in the mood for the 4th of July festivities and we’re ready to celebrate while sporting Cockpit USA.
