On July 21-22nd at Pier 92, Première Vision held its world’s premier global fabric show, which offers up the season’s latest designs and styles some 18 months beforehand. With more than 300 exhibitors from Italy, France, Turkey, Portugal, Spain, Japan, South Korea, Great Britain the United States and others, this is the center of meetings and where visions come to life between mills, weavers, and designers. This trade show is both a one-of-a-kind place to do business and a trend laboratory.
With the show being sold out, there were good vibes, exhilarating creative prospects, optimism, numerous but also edgy selection of products, inspiration, and an apparent focus on trends that surrounded the space.
In booths full of swatches and samples, vendors and visitors can effortlessly handle their business: producing orders for their next collection and making relationships for future seasons. In the accessories area, beside textile trims, buttons, labels, functional products and jewel components there are now also furs, with Siozos Constantinos and Tres Chic Cuir, and packaging with Reca Group, which is also a label specialist. On the weavers’ section, knits, jacquards, lace & embroidery are just some of whats there is to come for the Fall winter season. The list includes distinguished companies and among them were Tessilbiella, Lanificio Campore, Lanificio Nova Fides, C.O.T.O. by Stylem, and many more.
As for color trends for the Fall/Winter 2016/2017 season, it is all about a palette of deep and dark tones. Shadowy shades of green, purple, blue and black update tactile seasonal textures like knit and wool, while glossy leathers and polished accessories depict sophistication.
This season, a spotlight on touch shapes both print and material, as products seek creative growth within the sphere of texture. The trend area displays a key print trend where printed surfaces mimic materials, inspired by upholstery patterns or interior principles of art. Materials themselves attract to the touch with modern takes on vintage jacquards, carpet weave and interior velvets, including hairy woolens and structured silk.
With all this excitement, we cannot wait to see what’s in store for the next Première Vision Trade Show!
