Peter Lindbergh/NOWNESS

Peter Lindbergh is most well-known for his reappearing photography with the superstars within the modelling and fashion industry. Becoming an innovator in today’s fast-paced search for the ‘It’ girl; Lindbergh has built his own trademark style that we all remember in his impeccable black and white portraits. His connections with the people in front of the camera, allows him to capture them on a special level, provoking a one-of-a-kind, inside perspective.

In January 1990, Vogue UK published one of its most recognizable covers to this day: photographed by Peter Lindbergh in black-and-white, Naomi Campbell, Linda Evangelista, Christy Turlington, Cindy Crawford, and Tatjana Patitz who were the faces of the generation of the ’90s supermodel.

Now, Lindbergh takes us back for a major #TBT where he brought six of the most powerful models back together in front of the camera for a shoot suitably titled “The Reunion.” And as part of its “Director’s Cut” series, online video channel Nowness debuted a behind-the-scenes video from it. Cindy Crawford, Eva Herzigova, Karen Alexander, Helena Christensen, Nadja Auermann and Tatjana Patitz pose on set in bulky sweaters while reminiscing previous shoots with the German photographer. Photographed in timeless black and white, the six beautiful women confirm that beauty grows greater with age.

The movie shows a behind-the-scenes brief look at the entire process, in addition to an inside look into Lindbergh’s achievements and fame. Crawford shares some of her experience with Lindeberg in the film by saying, “The thing that makes operating with Peter memorable is simply Peter, it’s his energy. He loves ladies and that in reality comes across. He in reality sees the good looks in a mature woman, like thru experience, thru having children, thru heartbreaks, thru love, thru all of that. Peter thinks [it] adds to our good looks and that’s in reality what we’re here doing today.”

Peter Lindbergh continues to set the bar high with his photography, and proves once again that with age comes a new attitude, knowledge, and plenty of graceful looks.
